Minimum Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older
Have a valid driver's license and a good driving record
Experience with animals (worked with, owned, etc.)
Willing to extract animals (primarily dogs and cats) from any situation as need, while communicating with well intentioned, angry or distraught people
Work respectfully in the field with local law enforcement entities as requested
Ability to read, write and type to complete forms, communicate internally with staff and keep adequate records and reports
Must be a team player

Preferred Qualifications
Previous animal control experience
Some law enforcement education or experience
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent judgement
Previous experience driving for a job
Professional in appearance and attitude
Line within 15 minutes of Friends of Animals

Description of duties
Animal Control Officer is responsible for responding to calls from the public and/or law enforcement agencies and assisting law enforcement as needed by transporting animals in Friends of Animals animal control van from various locations in Carlton County and surrounding communities to Friends of Animals shelter. Must be able to assist animal care technicians as needed. Other duties include animal cruelty investigations, answering animal control mobile hotline where callers questions are answered promptly and with excellent customer service, completing various reports depending on nature of call and also responding promptly to dispatch.

Animal Care Technicians
Must be available all shifts including weekends. This is a demanding job, but very rewarding.
We need responsible people who will show up for their scheduled shift and are rarely absent.
The animals count on you to be here. They need fresh food and water and a clean living space.
